Summary:
Made an agreement with Bagrat, doux of Iberia, to grant him the government of the city of Ani and its territory and made him doux, effectively without state support. Soon this stinginess resulted in the loss of that city for the Romans, as Bagrat neglected the army and administration, did not provide supplies for the acropolis, and put the city in danger
