Conrad III met Manuel I in Thrace & wintered in Constantinople

Summary:
Conrad III welcomed Manuel's friendly letter, and returned via the Hellespont to Thrace, where he was met by Manuel and conducted to the capital. There a winter of palaces, spectacles, horse-races and brilliant receptions restored his health; he was then sent on to Palestine
