Celebrations in Constantinople including Theoktistos & 'Allaf, son of Hassan (Pinzarach)

Summary:
Romanos III, when an embassy from the son of Amer, ruler of Aleppo requested the renewal of their peace treaty and offered to pay tribute, sent Theophylaktos to Aleppo to confirm the alliance. Theophylaktos also visited Hassan ibn al-Mufarrij, and brought back to the capital his son 'Allaf, who was made a patrikios, given gifts, and sent back to his father

  • Was invited by the emperor (Romanos 3, to Constantinople) who made him patrikios, granted him gifts and sent him back to his father (:) واستدعى علافًا ابنه اليه فدخل فى جماعة من أصحابه فأحسن الملك اليهم إحسانًا كثيرًا ... وجعله بطريقًا وأعاده الى أبيه Yahya al-Antaki 512

  • Made Alach 101, the son of Pinzarach 101, patrikios, received Pinzarach himself and offered him considerable gifts, sent him back home (to Tripoli), and ransomed Choirosphaktes (Leon 104) from captivity and restored him to his own people (:) καὶ τοῖς οἴκείοις ἀπέδωκε Skylitzes 383.91-96
  • Following an embassy with the son of the ruler of Aleppo (Berroia) Amer 101 requesting the renewal of the peace treaty and offering to pay tribute, he sent Theophylaktos 101 (to Berroia/Aleppo) to confirm the alliance (:) Glykas 583.16-20
  • Sent on several occasions generous gifts to Hassan (Pinzarach 101, who had moved to Aleppo), invited his son 'Allaf (Alach 101), made him patrikios, granted him gifts and sent him back to his father (:) ووصّل الملك لحسّان بن الجرّاح دفعات بصلات جليلة واستدعى علافًا ابنه اليه فدخل فى جماعة من أصحابه فأحسن الملك اليهم إحسانًا كثيرًا ... وجعله بطريقًا وأعاده الى أبيه Yahya al-Antaki 512
