Leon, bishop of Nauplion and Argos built the monastery of Nea Mone (Areias) during the reign of Manuel I and the patriarchate of Nikolaos IV Mouzalon [there survive a memorandum of foundation (1143), an undated typikon and an inscription on the building (1149); the Kleinchroniken entry is confused]
