  • His ship was eagerly boarded by Venetians and escaped, but was overtaken by the Byzantines near the Hellespont and attacked with Greek fire; the sailors wrapped it in cloths soaked in vinegar, which repelled the fire, so it escaped (:) Kinnamos 283.9-19
