Certainty: 3 Arrival of crusading army before Jerusalem: positions in the siege
Godfrey of Bouillon with Tancred was positioned on the Tower of David side of Jerusalem, while Raymond of Toulouse with two Italian bishops was opposite the door of the tower itself. Robert of Flanders and Hugh of Saint-Pol were stationed to keep watch on the sloping part of the plains (?). Robert of Normandy and Conan of Lamballe were near the chapel of St Stephanos. Other positions were taken up by Raimbold of Orange, Louis of Mousson, Cono of Montaigu and his son Lambert, Gaston of Beziers, Gerard of Rousillon, Baldwin of Bourcq and Thomas of La Fere. Later Raymond left some troops to cover the gate of the Tower of David, but moved his camp to Mt Sion. The army was smaller than before: Bohemond, Hugh the Great and Stephen of Blois were sadly missed
