Apochaps, brother of the amir of Sicily Abulafar Muhammad (?), rose in rebellion against his brother and overpowered him. Abulafar Muhammad sought Byzantine help in the terms of their recent alliance.

  • Following the successful mission of Georgios 107 to Sicily, he concluded an alliance with the emperor (Michael 4) and was made magistros, and when his brother Apochaps 101 rose in rebellion and overpowered him he sought help from the emperor (:) ὁμαιχμίαν μετὰ τοῦ βασιλέως θέμενος Skylitzes 398.88-89

  • Prevailed over his brother (Apochaps 101), who sought help from the ruler of Africa Oumer 101 (:) τοῦ Ἀπολάφαρ ὑπερισχύοντος Skylitzes 400.50-51
